Overview
- Removes traffic lights on SR 500 at Northeast Falk Road/Northeast 42nd Avenue and Northeast Stapleton Road/Northeast 54th Avenue
- Restricts some of the turning movements to provide uninterrupted flow from I-5 to Fourth Plain Boulevard
- The existing median barrier will be extended through both intersections to enforce the turn restrictions
- Limits access to right turns off SR 500 and right turns onto SR 500 at Northeast Falk Road/Northeast 42nd Avenue and Northeast Stapleton Road/Northeast 54th Avenue
- Constructs acceleration lanes for vehicles entering SR 500, similar to a freeway on-ramp
- Maintains pedestrian and bicycle crossing at Northeast Falk Road/Northeast 42nd Avenue
- Installs new grade-separated pedestrian and bicycle crossing of SR 500 at Northeast Stapleton Road/Northeast 54th Avenue

Safety
- Reduces crashes by up to 70 percent
- Eliminates conflicts involving left turns
Improved travel times
- Greatly improves travel times on SR 500 by eliminating traffic lights
- Reduces SR 500 traffic delays by up to 100 percent
Access to SR 500
- Eliminates vehicle travel across SR 500 at Northeast Falk Road/Northeast 42nd Avenue and Northeast Stapleton Road/Northeast 54th Avenue
- Increases trips on Fourth Plain Boulevard, Northeast St. Johns Road and Northeast Andresen Road
- Maintains access to and from SR 500 via right turns
- Assumes drivers will use Northeast St. Johns Road or Northeast Andresen Road, or turn right onto SR 500 and make a U‑turn at one of these interchanges to travel across SR 500
